Objective

The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction and competency skills to the field development personnel and to the all personnel working in the upstream industry.

This course takes you through all of the major stages in the life of an oil or gas field from exploration, through appraisal, development planning, production to decommissioning. This course intends to help the engineers to understand the major technical and business considerations that make up each part of the life of a typical oil or gas field, and to demonstrate the link between the many disciplines involved.

Subjects are always introduced by pointing out the commercial application of the subject in order to clarify its relevance to the overall business.

Methodology

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information and knowledge transfer. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. You will also be encouraged to raise your own questions and to share in the development of the right answers using your own analysis and experiences.  Tests of the multiple-choice type will be made available on a daily basis to examine the effectiveness of delivering the course.
